What we collect

To create your book we process: the love-story details you type into the quiz, the first names you provide, up to two photographs you upload, your email address, and — for paid orders — the payment and (for physical orders) shipping and phone details you enter at checkout.

Why we use it & legal basis

Your data is used solely to generate, deliver and (for physical editions) print and ship your personalised book, and to contact you about your order. The legal basis is performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for optional analytics, your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). We do not sell your data.

Service providers (processors)

We rely on: Vercel (website hosting); Supabase (database and encrypted file storage, EU region); Stripe (payment processing); Anthropic (story text generation); fal.ai (illustration generation); Resend (transactional email); and, for physical orders, Lulu (print and fulfilment). If web analytics are enabled, Meta and/or Google may also process usage data. Each acts as our processor and only to provide its part of the service.

Your photos

Uploaded photos are stored in a private storage bucket, used only to render the two of you as characters in your book, and are not used to train AI models. You can request deletion of your photos and story at any time.

Retention

We keep your book and inputs so you can re-read and re-download your order; you may request deletion at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port or object to the processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email hello@ournovella.com.
